Legal
Driver & Affiliate Liability and Insurance Policy
The licensing, insurance, vehicle and conduct standards Sixstarlimo requires of independent chauffeurs and affiliated transportation companies, and how responsibility for a journey is divided.
Draft for client and legal review
This document was drafted for Sixstarlimo’s business model as described on this website. It has not been reviewed by a qualified legal adviser and is not yet in force. Highlighted values marked [like this] are commercial or legal decisions that Sixstarlimo must confirm before publication.

1.Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to every independent professional chauffeur and every affiliated transportation company that receives work through the Sixstarlimo network, and to anyone driving on their behalf.
It also tells customers what we require of the partners who carry out their journeys, which is why it is published rather than kept private.
2.The nature of the relationship
Partners are independent businesses. Nothing in the relationship creates employment, agency, partnership or a joint venture between Sixstarlimo and a partner, and a partner is free to work with other clients and platforms.
Practically, that means a partner:
- Chooses which journeys to accept;
- Provides its own vehicle, equipment and drivers;
- Holds its own licensing, permits and insurance;
- Is responsible for its own tax, social contributions and regulatory compliance;
- Directs how the journey is driven, within the law.
How a partnership is remunerated, invoiced and terminated is set out in the individual partner agreement, not here: [partner commercial terms to be confirmed].
3.Licensing and permits
A partner must hold, and keep current, every licence and permit its jurisdiction requires to carry passengers for hire. Requirements vary considerably between states, cities and airports, and it is the partner’s responsibility to know and meet the ones that apply where it operates, including any specific airport permit needed to collect passengers there.
Sixstarlimo verifies licensing at onboarding and may ask for re-verification at any time. A partner must tell us promptly if a licence is suspended, revoked, expires or changes in scope.
4.Insurance
A partner must hold commercial motor insurance appropriate to carrying passengers for hire, covering the vehicle used, the driver, and passengers, and valid in every area where it accepts journeys.
Personal or social-and-domestic motor policies are not acceptable. Cover that excludes carrying passengers for reward is not acceptable. Where a jurisdiction sets a minimum liability limit for passenger transport, the partner must meet at least that limit; whether Sixstarlimo sets a higher minimum of its own is [minimum insurance limits to be confirmed].
A partner must provide evidence of cover on request, notify us before cover lapses or materially changes, and notify us of any claim that could affect its ability to carry out assigned journeys.
Sixstarlimo makes no representation about its own insurance here. What cover the platform carries, and specifically whether it responds to incidents during a journey performed by a partner, is [Sixstarlimo’s own insurance position to be confirmed]. It must not be described to customers or partners until it has been verified with the insurer.
5.Vehicle standards
Vehicles used on journeys assigned through Sixstarlimo must be:
- Legally registered, roadworthy and current on all required inspections;
- Maintained to the manufacturer’s schedule;
- Clean inside and out, and presentable at the start of every journey;
- Accurately represented: the vehicle used must match, or exceed, the category the customer booked;
- Equipped with functioning seatbelts for every passenger carried, and with any child restraints agreed in advance.
A partner must not substitute a vehicle of a lower category without Sixstarlimo agreeing it with the customer first.
6.Driver standards
Anyone driving an assigned journey must:
- Hold a valid driving licence and any required professional endorsement;
- Be authorised by the partner to drive the vehicle in question;
- Be fit to drive: not under the influence of alcohol or drugs, and within lawful driving-hours limits;
- Present professionally and conduct themselves courteously;
- Drive lawfully and observe speed limits, whatever a passenger may ask for;
- Treat passenger information as confidential and not use it for any purpose beyond performing the journey;
- Not solicit work directly from a customer introduced by Sixstarlimo.
Background screening requirements, where they apply in addition to licensing, are [screening requirements to be confirmed].
7.Responsibility for the journey
Once a journey is assigned and accepted, the partner is responsible for performing it: the vehicle, the driver, the driving, and compliance with transport regulation along the route.
Sixstarlimo remains responsible for the booking and coordination service: taking the customer’s requirements accurately, assigning them to a suitable partner, confirming what has been agreed, and passing on the information the partner needs to perform the journey.
Where a customer claim arises, Sixstarlimo will investigate with the partner. How responsibility is finally apportioned between the platform and the partner, and whether the partner indemnifies Sixstarlimo for claims arising from its own performance, is [indemnity and apportionment terms to be settled on legal advice]. Those terms belong in the signed partner agreement and cannot be assumed from another company’s policy.
8.Accidents and incidents
A partner must tell Sixstarlimo as soon as reasonably possible about:
- Any accident or injury involving a passenger on an assigned journey;
- Any incident that prevents an assigned journey being completed;
- Any complaint made directly to it by a Sixstarlimo customer;
- Any regulatory action, licence suspension or insurance issue affecting its ability to operate.
Emergency services must be contacted first where anyone is hurt. Notifying us never takes priority over dealing with an incident safely.
9.Passenger information
Partners receive only the information needed to carry out the journey. That information must be used for that purpose alone, must not be retained longer than necessary, must not be shared with anyone outside the partner’s operation, and must not be used for the partner’s own marketing. How Sixstarlimo handles personal information is described in the privacy and cookies policy.
10.Applications, approval and removal
Submitting an application through the registration page does not create a partnership. Every application is reviewed, licensing and insurance are verified, and Sixstarlimo may decline an application without giving reasons.
A partner may be suspended or removed from the network where it no longer meets the standards in this policy, where licensing or insurance lapses, or where conduct gives us reasonable cause for concern. Notice periods and any right to appeal are set out in the partner agreement: [suspension and appeal process to be confirmed].
11.Changes to this policy
We may update these expectations as the network grows or as regulation changes. Partners will be notified of material changes, and continuing to accept journeys after a change indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
